End of day
I spent my day working on “The Optimist”, the newszine that I’m publishing this Thursday evening for everyone to read on Friday. Today I did a dozen interviews. This is right at my growth-edge of what feeling comfortable- being that social and “on” all day was exhilarating and tiring. I am so grateful to everyone who took some time to sit and talk with me, share their experience, ask questions and agree to jump into a new experience (being interviewed!). I am also SO grateful to everyone who has agreed to contribute in any way. Thank you.
This evening I worked through the interviews, edited them for clarity and brevity, and did a first round of typesetting the zine. Tentatively I’m thinking the frontpage will be the “goings ons” and then into A welcome letter, Profiles, Features, Puzzles with art, lists, quotes, and horoscopes mixed throughout.
Oh! I wrote horoscopes today. I’m trying to have this be a very human endeavor but I might ask an AI writing partner to help me expand horoscopes. (Right now they’re based on the months of the year and not the zodiac).
Tomorrow
Tomorrow I get to be a junior reporter! I aim to do some news gathering about:
- Arduino Day
- Wrong Answers Only Day
- Impossible Day
- The first day of batch for Winter 1
And maybe the book clubs?
I also want to have space to offer editing or brainstorming for contributors.
